Another scalloped navy blue jacket - McCall's 6844

McCall's 6844

I really liked my scalloped navy jacket but it didn't really felt right. Even as big as I am this days the coat still felt to big. I was a little drowning in it. I also was not pleased with the way the front panels and collar moved with me. To much fabric there in my opinion. And I often found myself searching for the pockets. But when mom come over a few days ago and I had her try it out I really liked it on her so I decided to let her have it and I needed to do it again for me.
This time I traced size S, added pockets from Vogue 8775 and went with view B for the front panel & view D for the back.
I decided to keep the scalloped collar but this time I used a bigger radius ( more out of curiosity ).
and used some circle shaped  cardboard to help iron it better when I turned it over:
I don't know if my new coat looks better, but it sure feels a lot better to me.

  1. What great jackets! I love your style and how you put your fabrics together. The photo of your son, your mom and you is quite wonderful! I really enjoyed all of the photos and your write up. I found my way here from the wardrobe contest. I'll be returning.
