One pattern, many looks - part 1 - New look 6432

One pattern, many looks - what is not to love about this. It looks like this end of the year saved all of my favorite contests on PR. This is the 1st part of my entry. I picked up New look 6432 view A . I ordered this because if the tops and dresses I kept making for Eva all year. I loved the Pocahontas jersey top from Ottobre.
It is a woven pattern and a really good chance for me to use some of my blouse fabrics. I had yet to find a woven blouse pattern to love. Looks like getting inspiration from Eva's wardrobe was a good idea after all. I love my new tops.
I was unsure at 1st so I started with some cheap sale fabric and wanted to do a beach cover up 1st. I always wanted some easy going long sleeved dress to wear in the sun without worrying about getting sunburns on my hands and shoulders and there is never enough time right before a beach trip so I didn't had one so far. Time to plan really early this year. The dress turned out really nice and I love the floral print I used as contrast. I just wished I used a larger strip at the bottom. The dress also have large pockets that I love, self bias binding at the neck line and sleeves facings instead of gathered cuffs.
I am quite happy with it and I would like to do a 2nd one quite similar for summer as well.
The next one up was a fabric I absolutely love and that I avoided cutting into for a while. It was a good choice to wait. This ethnic print was perfect for this pattern. This is probably my favorite top at the moment. And can you see how well I matched the pattern on the front yoke...
I was so pleased with this one that I did a very similar one right away. I used piping this time to highlight the front yoke a bit. I also doubled the front yoke so it can be worn more freely untied.
After this one I took a break to make my lekala coats and then I went back to the pattern with a weird fabric that I wanted to try for a while:

I am not quite done yet. I worked something out for the weekend but no pictures yet, soon and I still have 1 week left so I hope I can get one or two more done. we will see...
