Little coat for my little girl

I have been really busy with work and kids lately and I had to put sewing aside for a while. It was weird for me to stop sewing after such a full of garments spring and summer. I keep imagining new projects but I never seem to have the energy or the time to even start them. So this week I finally got things moving. I printed this little coat pattern from a russian site:here
I started assembling the printed pages on Tuesday and I liked so much how the cost was coming together that I couldn't stop working on it whenever I could find a free minute. I changed on the last moment the collar and decided to do the interior an the parts that get in contact with the baby skin in soft fleece. This coat is the size 80 option and I also modified the lining to better mach the back.
I 1st intended to live the simple butterfly applique but then when I did it again separately for the boots I found it interesting to change the coat as well and sewed one butterfly on top of the original one for a 3D effect:
I then did a pair of boots that were to small and had to redo and 2 pieces for the head since the 1st one seemed to busy and didn't like it that much:

I am very happy with the end result and my little girls sure turned some heads in the park.

And she was a bit tired after all the photos and attention:

Baby accessories

Baby accessories
This  should be my last day before the baby girl comes. Starting yesterday I worked on some accessories to completed the wardrobe I worked on. All the patterns are self drafted after some RTW from the boy. Enjoy the little things:

The green gingham print is probably the one working with most of my items done so far:
The chevron and green contrast are probably my favorites:
The owls and the flower print has their own pants + bodysuit to work with :
The last 3 pairs of booties are quilting cotton and they were started a while back. I just managed to finish them now with the rest:

Adorable Turtles - home booties & pants - Burda 12/2010 #135

I got a new embroidery machine 2 weeks ago - In-novis 750E and I had to celebrate it. So it was a little turtle fest. The applique design was offered for free I think some time but Adorable Applique site and is still available to buy now here.
The shoes is the same pattern as the monkeys one tested here.
The pants are from Burda Style Magazine  12/2010 pajamas 135 that I also worked for Christmas and that were a big hit with my boy - here.
I am very happy with the result and even more happy that my boy loves them.

Cloth baby booties - new batch

cloth baby booties
My biggest hit with my son in terms of sewing was for sure the various pairs of cloth shoes I made for him to wear at home and daycare. He simply loves them. It has been a while since I sewed any and all his other pairs are worn out and with holes... so it was past time to do some more and create a bigger size for the pattern as well.

I was very happy to finally have some nice anti-slippery sole fabric ( I used leather for the previous pairs for sole but that is not easy to sew ... ).
The drive test was a monkey version that I finished 2 days ago and is was a big hit again... My son loves them and he only agrees to takes them of if he is going out or sleeping ... I could not be more happy and of course I should sew more...
I am also trying to get my pattern right for the newborn size since baby 2 will arrive soon so here are 2 newborn attempts that have been gifted already to friends:

A lovely yellow flannel version  :

And a quilting cotton with musical notes:
And in the end 2 of my favorite past pieces:
And also from the past 2 full leather versions, one for my son and one for a girl :

Nautical red and white ( Burda 6/2014 #138 )

burda 6/2014 138
Over the weekend I sew a set for my boy.

The T-shirt is BurdaStyle Magazine 6/2104 #138. I cut size 98 ( the biggest available ) and it fits really well. I skipped the neck button and just widened it by 1 cm or so. I cut the sleeves short. I also cut the lower hem straight . I found the pattern really easy and fast. Is was a good starting point for a raglan T-shirt. I will sure use it again soon. Is a great wardrobe builder.

The pants are drafted using another pair of his pants and the shoes are after I pattern I drafted starting from a RTW pair that he enjoyed very much. The shoes have red leather on the sole for a better adherence and cotton on the inside and the rest. He sure enjoys his new outfit, specially the shoes. He loves this type of shoes. I had a few pairs made in the winter and he wore them every day. Time for a new summer collection.
