Being godmother - sewing for the baptism - Butterick 6380

If last year we were there for their wedding this year we had to be there for their little guy. The initial talk was that we will be godparents early this summer but the timeline was changed at the last moment and was moved for the first weekend after Easter ... right in the middle of the last minutes preparations for my sister in law wedding. I really really wanted to make the outfit for the little guy myself but was unrealistic to do on a short notice in such a busy time so with a heavy heart I went out to buy one. It is very hard to buy as a sewist... nothing was good enough for the little guy. The fabric was not pleasant enough for a child for most of them, some were badly made and quite a few for witch I really didn't like the colors, print and other details... I was starting to lose hope when I finally found a linen suit.  The bright red was really nice and worked so well with navy pants. They were really nicely made and  looked comfortable to wear. And it didn't come with the really really boring white shirt. It had a fun print with read and blue. Someone finally found a good coordination and made my job of buying this feel less a burden. It was a bit more price then most of the other options I have seen but it didn't metered ... my mind was made...
I had quite a few outfits I could have wore for the occasion but once the little outfit was chosen I felt a very quick matching dress for the godmother was in order and remember some really cool navy and read fabrics I got last fall...
And I felt that if I make the same dress I used for the wedding day it will have more meaning and consistency so deiced to make a new Butterick 6380:
So here it is my godmother dress. I made a gathered skirt this time so I can make a better pattern placement but other then that no change this time just went on with the modified patern pieces from last time.

I only made this dress for the baptism but I least I had no time for fabric shopping.
So Sewing 52 - Shopping 55.
