Are you totally bored with Butterick 6492 ... because I can't have enough of them. The patern is simply addictive - both to sew and to wear.
So I decide to make a 4th version in windowpane print. The pockets are the best feature. So cleaver and so comfy.
I deiced to try a new twist in the back. I really wanted a bit more interest and tie with the corners in the front but the large striped version seemed like a bit to much fabric and I also didn't want any seam match disaster so this is what I did:
The final top is nice but somehow not as great as I have hopped. The fabric has enough stretch to be comfortable and stable enough not to grow but I feel the drape is not ideal...
Also feel a bit dull to me. I first intended to use a 2nd B&W print but my mom talked me out of it...
Bought some fabrics over the weekend so now it is Sewing 14 - Shopping 10.
I also finished my 2 dresses for but I have to keep them secret for now. Watch ElizabethMadeThis blog at the end of the month for the big dress parade and sew 2 dresses to join the #dayandnightdresschallage:
I like it. You have some really bold ones so having something more 'plain' is ok, but I don't think it is plain, I think it's just in comparison to the other ones.
ReplyDeleteYou are probably right! The previous ones set the bar quite high! Thank you!
DeleteI am new to your blog and love this top-and all the others you’ve sewn. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It was a really fun pattern to work with!
DeleteI have made this pattern once. Do you leave the edges of the pockets raw then coverstitch them on? that was the only thing I didn't like about the pattern. Your versions all look great!
ReplyDeleteI don't like anything left raw! I turn the edges of the pockets under before sewing them to the insert panels.
