Butterick 6457 cold shoulder tunic take 2

I really enjoyed my last top. That was suppose to be just a small diversion from the maxi dress I was working on. This pattern that I only bought to get the free shipping turned out to be a real winner:
It is a bit to loose but if you cut a smaller size then they suggest you get a really cute summary top. It is also quite easy to make. The neckline it is a bit tricky but not so hard once you stabilize the fabric properly and use some hand sticking to put everything in its place before sewing.
So I just could not resist cutting a new one from the scraps I had left over from the dress.
It is gray shade with pained big blue flowers and discreet shine and texture. It looks rich and luxurious even though I got it quite cheap on a big deposit out of town where prices are incredibly low. The only downside was that I had to buy the minimum 5 meters so even after cutting my maxi dress I still had plenty left. So I cut this top as well.
The only regret I had is that I haven't cut it longer like the first one.

  1. It's so beautiful tunic! Is that fabric polyester? It doesn't look cheap! You really got a good deal:)

    1. I got it that cheap because that deposit works mostly with big volumes and the small cuts they sell without a receipt! Everything there is at least half the piece then anything else in the city! It is definitely not poly because I already wore it in hot weather and was fine in it. I think it is a cotton mostly by the way it behaves. Or some blend.

  2. I agree--this fabric looks quite pricey--it's a beautiful print and it looks great in this style!

    1. Well I already had 2 people asking me if that was silk! It was good deal indeed. I will try to see if I find anything similar in other shops and maybe get the information there.

  3. What a gorgeous fabric. Great match for this pattern, which I think is the loveliest cold shoulder pattern I have seen.
