Adorable Turtles - home booties & pants - Burda 12/2010 #135

I got a new embroidery machine 2 weeks ago - In-novis 750E and I had to celebrate it. So it was a little turtle fest. The applique design was offered for free I think some time but Adorable Applique site and is still available to buy now here.
The shoes is the same pattern as the monkeys one tested here.
The pants are from Burda Style Magazine  12/2010 pajamas 135 that I also worked for Christmas and that were a big hit with my boy - here.
I am very happy with the result and even more happy that my boy loves them.

Nautical red and white ( Burda 6/2014 #138 )

burda 6/2014 138
Over the weekend I sew a set for my boy.

The T-shirt is BurdaStyle Magazine 6/2104 #138. I cut size 98 ( the biggest available ) and it fits really well. I skipped the neck button and just widened it by 1 cm or so. I cut the sleeves short. I also cut the lower hem straight . I found the pattern really easy and fast. Is was a good starting point for a raglan T-shirt. I will sure use it again soon. Is a great wardrobe builder.

The pants are drafted using another pair of his pants and the shoes are after I pattern I drafted starting from a RTW pair that he enjoyed very much. The shoes have red leather on the sole for a better adherence and cotton on the inside and the rest. He sure enjoys his new outfit, specially the shoes. He loves this type of shoes. I had a few pairs made in the winter and he wore them every day. Time for a new summer collection.

Sew little, smile big... ( pants )

It is so nice to see this big smile wrapped in something nice that mommy made. I can never wish for a better modeling... It is not easy for me to sew for a boy. But I am trying. So here is my practice run. Easy knit pants and a blouse . I used ready to wear to trace the pattern.

The 1st two pair that I completed seemed a bit tight so I did what I usually do when I mess up.  I try to rethink and change the design to cover it up. Think time I cut the side and added some printed fabric stripe.
Robert Kaufman fabric
I really liked the result so I decided I will keep doing thins on purpose. I already did a black pair as well with a stripe of hearts:

And since hearts should not be alone for to long I also sew a heart blouse for him:

Maybe all this hearts are a bit girly but I have confidence that he is man enough to pull it off.

I like not to worry about this cloth when he plays or eats... and for that he can never have enough cloths. This knit pants closed in the overlock  sewing machine are so fast to make so I decided I should do more. So here is the stripe mini series:

I didn't like to pairs the same so I played with the stripes ( the fabric was double stretch ).
I would still like to do so many more but we will see ...
